SUBJECT: Vibration in Traction Units with Kubota D1105 series engines.
SITUATION: There are various factors that may induce vibration in the D1105
engines, such as broken motor mounts, bent pulleys, and loose
fasteners. The engine is externally balanced by the Fan Drive Pulley.
CORRECTION: When investigating vibration issues on products with a Kubota D1105
Series engine, start by checking the following components: motor
mounts, fasteners, belt condition, pulleys, driveshaft, and coupler. The
alignment of the Fan Drive Pulley (crankshaft pulley) to the front of
the crankshaft (gear case side) should be inspected only after checking
all external factors first. Remove the bolt and verify that the marks are
in alignment. If after inspecting, the marks are found to be out of
alignment, realign them. Then, retorque crankshaft end bolt to the
Kubota Service Manual specifications listed in the table below. If you
have questions regarding this issue, contact your Toro Distributor.
