SUBJECT: Change to column bearing remedies steering wheel wobbling.

SITUATION: On earlier production Steering Control Assemblies a bushing

was used to support the steering wheel. Forces applied while

using the steering wheel for support climbing onto or off unit will

wear this bushing, allowing the steering wheel to wobble /

vacillate. Limiting use of the steering wheel as a handle will

increase component life.

CORRECTION: Steering columns in current production use a bearing that

provides improved support for the steering wheel. The bearing

is not serviced separately. Column ASM (104-0475) should be

used to service the Steering Control Assembly. Complete

replacement of the Steering Control Assembly is not necessary.

Orders for the original Column ASM parts will be cross-

referenced to the current Column ASM (104-0475).

PARTS: Column ASM (104-0475) is currently available through your

distributor.
