Subject: PTO Belt failure due to contact with the ground.

The ground in undulating turf and rough terrain can periodically make contact with the

PTO belt and pulley assembly located between the front wheels. Contact with the

ground may cause the engine to stall and prevent the engine from restarting until the

unit is moved off the obstruction. Belt damage and eventual failure will result, if

repeated ground contact occurs.

To protect the PTO belt and pulley assembly in these conditions, we now offer a PTO

Belt Guard Kit for installation on the units listed above through your local Toro

distributor. Due to model changes, use the following notes to select the kit that fits your

vintage of machine.

Model 03420 and 03425 with a serial number from 20101-39999:

Order PTO Belt Guard Kit (93-0167).

Model 03420 and 03425 with a serial number from 40001- and Up:

Order PTO Belt Guard Kit (93-0171).
