TurfDefender HYDRAULIC TANK UPDATE KIT
MODEL NO. 03522
For Reelmaster
®
5100, 5300, 6500 & 6700 Traction Unit's
1. Park machine on a level surface, stop the engine
and engage the parking brake.
2. Remove fasteners securing control console to
fender and move console off fender (Fig. 1).
3. Remove fasteners securing fender to machine and
remove fender (Fig. 1).

4. Place a large drain pan under hydraulic tank (at
least 8 gallon).
5. Drain hydraulic oil from tank as follows:
a. On Reelmaster 5000 series traction units,
remove drain plug with O-ring from bottom of
hydraulic tank. Discard plug (Fig.2).

b. On Reelmaster 6000 series traction units,
remove cap fitting from hydraulic drain line on
bottom of tank. Discard plug (Fig.3).

6. Disconnect all fittings securing hydraulic lines to
bottom and sides of hydraulic tank. Retain all fittings.
Remove suction strainer from side of tank.
7. Remove hydraulic tank cap, O-ring, dipstick and
screen filter from filler neck.
8. Remove fasteners securing hydraulic tank to
traction unit frame and remove tank. Discard tank but
retain mounting fasteners.
9. Install new drain fitting as follows:
a. On Reelmaster 5000 series traction units,
install fitting adapter with O-ring in hole in bottom
of new hydraulic tank. Install drain fitting into fitting
adapter.
