thebedknifeawayfromthereel(Figure26).

1.Installthebedbar,positioningthemountingears
betweenthewasherandbedbaradjuster.
2.Securethebedbartoeachsideplatewiththebedbar
bolts(nutsonbolts)andthe6washers.
Note:Positionanylonwasheroneachsideoftheside
plateboss.Placeasteelwasheroutsideeachofthe
nylonwashers(Figure28).
3.Torquethebedbarboltsto37–45N-m(27–33ft-lb).
Note:Tightenthelocknutsuntiltheoutsidesteel
washerstopsrotatingandtheendplayisremovedbut,
donotovertightenordeectthesideplates.Washers
ontheinsidemayhaveagap.
4.Tightenthespringtensionnutuntilthespringis
collapsed,thenbackoff1/2turn(Figure29).
