BacklappingtheCuttingUnits
WARNING
Contactwiththereelsorothermovingpartscan
resultinpersonalinjury.
•Keepngers,hands,andclothingawayfromthe
reelsorothermovingparts.
•Neverattempttoturnthereelsbyhandorfoot
whiletheengineisrunning.
Note:Whenbacklapping,thefrontunitsalloperatetogether,
andtherearunitsoperatetogether.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,stoptheengine,engagetheparking
brake,andmovetheEnable/Disableswitchtodisable
position.
2.ToactivatethebacklapfunctionontheInfoCenter
servicemenu,proceedasfollows:
•Withetheengineoff,butthekeyintherun
position,accesstheMainMenuoftheInfoCenter.
•FromtheMainMenu,scrolldowntoServiceMenu
usingthecenterbuttonandselectitusingtheright
button.
•IntheServiceMenu,scrolldowntoFrontBacklap,
RearBacklapandactivatefront,rearorbothby
usingtherightbuttontoturnthedesiredsetof
cuttingunitsfromOFFtoON.
•Presstheleftbuttontosavethesettingsandexit
theSettingsmenu.
3.Makeinitialreeltobedknifeadjustmentsappropriate
forbacklappingonallcuttingunitswhicharetobe
backlapped;refertothecuttingunitOperator'sManual.
4.Starttheengineandrunatlowidlespeed.
DANGER
Changingtheenginespeedwhilebacklapping
maycausethereelstostall.
•Neverchangetheenginespeedwhile
backlapping.
•Onlybacklapatidleenginespeed.
5.WiththeMow/Transportleverinthemowposition,
movetheEnable/DisableswitchtotheEnable
position.MovetheLowerMow/Liftcontrolforward
tostartthebacklappingoperationonthedesignated
reels.
6.Applylappingcompoundwithalonghandlebrush.
Neveruseashorthandledbrush.
