7.Ifthereelsstallorbecomeerraticwhilebacklapping,
selectahigherreelspeedsettinguntilthespeed
stabilizes,thenreturnthereelspeedtoyourdesired
speed.Thiscanbedoneusingthebuttonsonthe
InfoCenter.
8.Tomakeanadjustmenttothecuttingunitswhile
backlapping,turnthereelsoffbymovingtheLower
Mow/Raiseleverrearward;theEnable/Disableswitch
totheDisableposition,andstoptheengine.After
completingadjustments,repeatsteps4through7.
9.Repeattheprocedureforallcuttingunitsyouwantto
backlap.
10.Whennished,turnoffthebacklapfunctions,using
thebuttonsintheInfoCenter,andwashalllapping
compoundoffofthecuttingunits.Adjustcuttingunit
reeltobedknifeasneeded.Adjustthecuttingunitreel
speedtothedesiredmowingsetting.
Important:Ifthebacklapfunctionisnotreturned
totheOffsettingafterbacklapping,thecutting
unitswillnotraiseorfunctionproperly.
Note:Forabettercuttingedge,runaleacross
thefrontfaceofthebedknifeafterlapping.Thiswill
removeanyburrsorroughedgesthatmayhavebuilt
uponthecuttingedge.
Storage
PreparingtheTractionUnit
1.Thoroughlycleanthetractionunit,cuttingunits,and
engine.
2.Checkthetirepressure.Inatealltractionunittiresto
83to103kPa(12to15psi).
3.Checkallfastenersforloosenessandtightenthemas
necessary.
4.Greaseallgreasettingsandpivotpoints.Wipeup
anyexcesslubricant.
5.Lightlysandandusetouch-uppaintonpaintedareas
thatarescratched,chipped,orrusted.Repairanydents
inthemetalbody.
6.Servicethebatteryandcablesasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthebattery
posts.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswithawire
brushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatterypostswith
Grafo112Xskin-overgrease(ToroPartNo.
505-47)orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.
D.Slowlyrechargethebatteryevery60daysfor24
hourstopreventleadsulfationofthebattery.
PreparingtheEngine
1.Draintheengineoilandreplacethedrainplug.
2.Removeanddiscardtheoillter.Installanewoillter.
3.Relltheenginewithdesignatedquantityofmotoroil.
4.Starttheengineandrunitatidlespeedfor
approximatelytwominutes.
5.Stoptheengine.
6.Thoroughlydrainallfuelfromthefueltank,lines,and
thefuellter/waterseparatorassembly.
7.Flushthefueltankwithfresh,cleandieselfuel.
8.Secureallfuelsystemttings.
9.Thoroughlycleanandservicetheaircleanerassembly.
10.Sealtheaircleanerinletandtheexhaustoutletwith
weatherprooftape.
11.Checktheantifreezeprotectionandaddasneededfor
expectedminimumtemperatureinyourarea.
