7.Installtesterwithpressuregaugeandowmeterinserieswiththepiston
pumpandthedisconnectedhose.Ensurethatthetesterowcontrolvalve
isfullyopen.
8.Startengineandincreaseenginespeedtohighidlespeed.Ensurethatthe
hydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperaturebyoperatingthemachine
underloadforapproximately10minutes.
CAUTION
Useextremecautionwhenperformingtest.Thefronttiresonthe
groundwillbetryingtomovethemachineforward.
9.Fullyapplythebrakestopreventthefrontwheelsfromrotatingandslowly
pushtractionpedalinforwarddirectionuntil6,900kPa(1,000psi)is
displayedonthetesterpressuregauge.
10.Combinedfrontwheelmotorinternalleakagewillbeshownonowmeter
inGPM(LPM).
11.Releasetractionpedal,shutofftheengine,rotatebothfrontwheels,and
retest.T estingofwheelmotorleakagein3differentwheelpositionswill
providethemostaccuratetestresults.Recordmeasuredfrontwheelmotor
internalleakageforall3wheelpositions.
12.Ifcombinedleakageforthefrontwheelmotorsislessthan5.7L/minute(1.5
gallons/minute),considerthatthefrontwheelmotorsareingoodcondition.
Ifcombinedleakageforthefrontwheelmotorsismorethan5.7L/minute
(1.5gallons/minute),1orbothofthemotorsmaybedamaged.Individual
frontwheelmotortestingisnecessary.
13.Totestindividualfrontwheelmotors:
A.Removefrontwheelfromwheelmotorthatisnotbeingtested.Remove
wheelshieldtoallowaccesstohydraulictubesandttingsonwheel
motor.RemovefastenersthatsecurefronthydraulictubeR-clampsto
frame.
B.Onthefrontwheelmotorthatisnotbeingtested,cleanjunctionofboth
hydraulictubesandwheelmotorttings.Disconnectbothhydrauliclines
fromwheelmotorthatisnotbeingtested.Capdisconnectedhydraulic
linesandwheelmotorttings.
C.Usetheproceduredescribedinsteps8to11abovetoidentifyindividual
frontwheelmotorleakage.Individualmotorinternalleakagewillbe
shownonowmeterinGPM(LPM).Flowshouldbelessthan5.7
L/minute(1.5gallons/minute)forthetestedwheelmotor.
D.Ifotherfrontwheelmotorrequirestesting,completestepsA,B,andC
forremainingwheelmotor.
14.Aftertestingiscompleted,shutofftheengine,andthenrelievehydraulic
systempressure;refertoReleasingPressurefromtheHydraulicSystem
(page6–8).Disconnecttesterfromhydraulicttingandhose.Connecthose
topumpelbowtting.Removecapsfromhydraulictubesandreconnect
tubestowheelmotor.SecurethehydraulictubestomachinewithR-clamps
andremovedfasteners.Installwheelshieldandwheel(s);refertoWheels
(page8–5).
