relievesystempressureandavoidinjuryfrompressurizedhydraulic
uid;refertoReleasingPressurefromtheHydraulicSystem(page
6–8).

3.Cleantheareaaroundthehydraulichoseandttingattherodendofthe
steeringcylinder(Figure110).
4.Removehydraulichosefromthettingontherodendofthesteeringcylinder.
5.Installateettingbetweenthedisconnectedhydraulichoseandthesteering
cylindertting.Installa34,500kPa(5,000psi)pressuregaugetothetee
tting.
6.Afterinstallingpressuregauge,startengine,andrunatidlespeed.Checkfor
anyhydraulicleakagefromtestconnectionsandcorrectbeforeproceeding
withtest.
7.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperatureby
operatingthemachineunderloadforapproximately10minutes.
8.Ensurethattheengineisrunningathighidlespeed.
IMPORTANT
Holdsteeringwheelatfulllockonlylongenoughtogetasystem
pressurereading.Holdingthesteeringwheelagainstthestopforan
extendedperiodmaydamagethesteeringcontrolvalve.
IMPORTANT
Assteeringwheelisturned,ensurethatthepressuregaugeisnot
contactedbyanymachineparts.
