2.Visuallyinspectthemanifoldportfordamagetothesealingsurfaces,
damagedthreads,andcontamination.
3.Installthemow/backlapspoolinthemowcontrolmanifoldasfollows:
A.InstalltheO-ringsandback-upringtotheuppergroovesonthespool.
ApplyalightcoatingofgreasetotheO-rings.
B.Carefullypushthespooldownintothemowmanifoldportuntilthelower
O-ringandback-upringgrooveisexposedatthebottomofthemanifold.
InstallthelowerO-ringandback-upringtothespool.Applyalight
coatingofgreasetotheO-ring.
C.Carefullyraisethemow/backlapspooluntiltheupperretainingring
grooveonthespoolisexposedonthetopofthemanifold.Installthe
upperretainingring.
D.Pushthemow/backlapspooldownandinstallthelowerretainingring
tothespool.
E.Ifthehandlewasremovedfromthespool,positionthespoolsothat
thehandlelocationofspoolisbetweenthestoppins.ApplyLoctite603
RetainingCompound(orequivalent)tothethreadsonthehandleand
installthehandleintothespool.T orquethehandleto13.6N∙m(10ft-lb).
F.Placetheballanddowelpininthebacklapswitchmanifoldport(Figure
165).InstallnewO-ringontothebacklapswitch.Threadthebacklap
switchintotheportandtorquetheswitchto27N∙m(20ft-lb).
