5.Selecteitherfront,rear,orbothbacklapleversto
determinewhichunitstobacklap(Figure109).

youareclearofthecuttingunitsbefore
proceeding.
6.WiththeMow/TransportleverintheMOW
position,movetheEnable/Disableswitchto
theENABLEposition.MovetheLowerMow/Lift
controlforwardtostartthebacklappingoperation
onthedesignatedreels.
7.Applylappingcompoundwithalong-handled
brush.
Important:Neveruseashort-handled
brush.
8.Ifthereelsstallorbecomeerraticwhile
backlapping,selectahigherreel-speedsetting
untilthespeedstabilizes,thenreturnthereel
speedtoyourdesiredspeed.
9.Toadjustthecuttingunitswhilebacklapping,turn
thereelsoffbymovingtheLowerMow/Raise
leverrearward;theEnable/Disableswitchtothe
DISABLEposition,andshutofftheengine.

removesanyburrsorroughedgesthatmay
havebuiltuponthecuttingedge.
