IMPORTANT
Toavoidgrindingthereel,donotcontactthecuttingedgeof
anybladewiththeprybarasthismaydamagethecuttingedge
and/orcauseahighblade.
B.Movetheprybaragainsttheweldsideofthereelsupportplateclosestto
thesplineinsertbeingtightened.
IMPORTANT
Thesplineinsertontheleftendofthecuttingreelhaslefthand
threadsandthesplineinsertontherightendofthecuttingreel
hasrighthandthreads.
C.Restthehandleoftheprybaragainstthefrontrollerandtightenthe
splineinsertclosesttotheprybar.Thesplineinsertsareinstalledwith
threadlockingcompound(Loctite#243orequivalent).Tightenthespline
insertfrom115to128N·m(85to95ft-lb).Usecorrectsplineinsert
tool(seeSpecialTools(page9–5)).
D.Positiontheprybarinthesamemannerontheoppositeendofthereel
andtightentheremainingsplineinsert.
16.Ifthecounterweightwasremovedfromthecuttingunit,installnewO-ring
(item11)oncounterweight.Securethecounterweighttothecuttingunitside
platewiththe2bolts;torquetheboltsto37to44N∙m(27to33ft-lb).
17.Lubricatethecuttingunitgreasettingsuntilgreasepurgesfromtherelief
ventsinthesideplates.Initialgreasingmayrequireseveralpumpsofahand
greasegun.Removetheunwantedgreasefromthettingsandreliefvents.
18.Installthecuttingunittothemachine.
