BladeSafety
•Awornordamagedbladeorbedknifecanbreak,
andapiececouldbethrowntowardyouor
bystanders,resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryor
death.
•Inspectthecuttingunitsperiodicallyforexcessive
wearordamage.
•Usecarewhencheckingthecuttingunits.Wrap
thebladesorweargloves,andusecautionwhen
servicingthereelsandbedknives.Onlyreplaceor
sharpenthereelsandbedknives;neverstraighten
orweldthem.
•Onmachineswithmultiplecuttingunits,takecare
whenrotatingareel;itcancausethereelsinthe
othercuttingunitstorotate.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Eachdaybeforeoperating,checkthereel-to-bedknife
contact,regardlessofwhetherthequalityofcuthad
previouslybeenacceptable.Theremustbelight
contactacrossthefulllengthofthereelandthe
bedknife(refertoAdjustingtheReeltoBedknifeinthe
cuttingunitOperator'sManual).

•Keepngers,hands,andclothingaway
fromthereelsorothermovingparts.
•Neverattempttoturnthereelsbyhandor
footwhiletheengineisrunning.
Note:Whenbacklapping,thefrontunitsalloperate
together,andtherearunitsoperatetogether.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andmovetheEnable/Disableswitch
totheDISABLEposition.
2.Unlockandraisetheseattoexposethebacklap
levers(Figure109).
