DPFAshAccumulation
•Thelighterashisdischargedthroughtheexhaust
system;theheavierashcollectsinthesootlter.
•Ashisaresidueoftheregenerationprocess.Over
time,thedieselparticulatelteraccumulatesashthat
doesnotdischargewiththeengineexhaust.
•Thecomputerfortheenginecalculatestheamountof
ashaccumulatedintheDPF.
•Whenenoughashaccumulates,theenginecomputer
sendsinformationtotheInfoCenterintheformofan
enginefaulttoindicatetheaccumulationofashinthe
DPF.
•Thefaultmessagesindicatethatitistimetoservice
theDPF .
•Inadditiontothewarnings,thecomputerreduces
thepowerproducedbytheengineatdifferent
ash-accumulationlevels.
