BecomingFamiliarizedwiththeMachine
Beforemowinggrass,practiceoperatingthemachinein
anopenarea.Startandshutofftheengine.Operatein
forwardandreverse.Lowerandraisethecuttingunitsand
engageanddisengagethereels.Whenyoufeelfamiliar
withthemachine,practiceoperatingupanddownslopesat
differentspeeds.
UnderstandingtheWarningSystem
Ifawarninglightcomesonduringoperation,stopthe
machineimmediatelyandcorrecttheproblembefore
continuingoperation.Seriousdamagecouldoccurifyou
operatethemachinewithamalfunction.
Mowing
Starttheengineandmovetheengine-speedswitchto
theFASTposition.MovetheEnable/Disableswitchtothe
ENABLEpositionandusetheLowerMow/Raiseleverto
controlthecuttingunits(thefrontcuttingunitsaretimedto
lowerbeforetherearcuttingunits).T omoveforwardand
cutgrass,pressthetractionpedalforward.
TransportingtheMachine
MovetheEnable/DisableswitchtotheDISABLEpositionand
raisethecuttingunitstotheTRANSPORTposition.Movethe
Mow/TransportlevertotheTRANSPORTposition.Becareful
whendrivingbetweenobjectssoyoudonotaccidentally
damagethemachineorcuttingunits.Useextracarewhen
operatingthemachineonslopes.Driveslowlyandavoid
sharpturnsonslopestopreventrollovers.Lowerthe
cuttingunitswhengoingdownhillforsteeringcontrol.

•Disengageandlowerthecuttingunits.
•Engagetheparkingbrake.
•Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
•Waitforallmovementtostop.
•Allowthemachinetocoolbeforeadjusting,servicing,
cleaning,orstoringit.
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunits,drives,
mufers,coolingscreens,andenginecompartmentto
helppreventres.Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
•Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwheneveryou
arehaulingornotusingthemachine.
•Maintainandcleantheseatbelt(s)asnecessary.
•Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwherethere
isanopename,spark,orpilotlight,suchasona
waterheateroronotherappliances.
