Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthe
machinefromthenormaloperatingposition.
CAUTION
Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,
someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengine
andseriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.
Lowerthecuttingunitstotheground,setthe
parkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
ignitionswitchbeforeservicingormaking
adjustmentstothemachine.

Carefullyreadallsafetyinstructionsandsymbolsin
thesafetysection.Knowingthisinformationcould
helpyouorbystandersavoidinjury.

slopescancauseslidingandlossofcontrol.

slopes.
•Donotoperatethemachinenearwater.

Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,
checktheoillevelintheenginecrankcase;referto
CheckingtheLeveloftheEngineOil(page52).
FillingtheFuelTank

Incertainconditions,fuelisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areor
explosionfromfuelcanburnyouandothers
andcandamageproperty.
•Fillthefueltanksoutdoors,inanopen
area,whentheengineiscold.Wipeupany
fuelthatspills.
•Neverllthefueltanksinsideanenclosed
trailer.
•Neversmokewhenhandlingfuelandstay
awayfromanopenameorwherefuel
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
•Storefuelinanapprovedcontainerand
keepitoutofthereachofchildren.Never
buymorethana30-daysupplyoffuel.
•Donotoperatewithoutentireexhaust
systeminplaceandinproperworking
condition.
