1.Thoroughlycleanthetractionunit,cuttingunits,
andengine.
2.Checkthetirepressure.Inatealltractionunit
tiresto83to103kPa(12to15psi).
3.Checkallfastenersforloosenessandtighten
themasnecessary.
4.Greaseallgreasettingsandpivotpoints.Wipe
upanyexcesslubricant.
5.Lightlysandandusetouch-uppaintonpainted
areasthatarescratched,chipped,orrusted.
Repairanydentsinthemetalbody.
6.Servicethebatteryandcablesasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthe
batteryposts.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswith
awirebrushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatteryposts
withGrafo112Xskin-overgrease(T oroPart
No.505-47)orpetroleumjellytoprevent
corrosion.
D.Slowlyrechargethebatteryevery60days
for24hourstopreventleadsulfationofthe
battery.
PreparingtheEngine
1.Draintheengineoilfromtheoilpanandreplace
thedrainplug.
2.Removeanddiscardtheoillter.Installanew
oillter.
3.Filltheoilpanwithdesignatedquantityofmotor
oil.
4.Starttheengineandrunitatidlespeedfor
approximately2minutes.
5.Shutofftheengine.
6.Flushthefueltankwithfresh,cleandieselfuel.
7.Checkantifreezeprotectionandadda50/50
solutionofwaterandantifreezeasneededfor
expectedminimumtemperatureinyourarea.
8.Secureallfuel-systemttings.
9.Thoroughlycleanandservicetheair-cleaner
assembly.
10.Sealtheair-cleanerinletandtheexhaustoutlet
withweatherprooftape.
11.Checktheantifreezeprotectionandaddas
neededforexpectedminimumtemperaturein
yourarea.
