AdjustingtheService
Brakes
Adjusttheservicebrakeswhenthereismorethan
1inchoffreetravelofthebrakepedal,orwhen
thebrakesdonotworkeffectively.Freetravelis
thedistancethebrakepedalmovesbeforeyoufeel
brakingresistance.
Note:Usethewheelmotorbacklashtorockthe
drumsbackandforthtoensurethatthedrumsare
freepriortoandafteradjustment.
1.Toreducefreetravelofthebrakepedals,tighten
thebrakesbylooseningthefrontnutonthe
threadedendofthebrakecable(Figure83).
