Tocontrolhazardsandpreventaccidents,itisessential
thatthosewhooperate,transport,maintain,andstore
themachinebeaware,concerned,andproperlytrained.
Improperlyusingthemachinecanresultininjuryor
death.Toreducethepotentialforinjuryordeath,
complywiththefollowingsafetyinstructions.
•Read,understand,andfollowallinstructionsinthe
tractionunitandthecuttingunitoperator’smanualbefore
operatingthecuttingunit.
•Neverallowchildrentooperatethetractionunitor
cuttingunits.Donotallowadultstooperatetractionunit
orcuttingunitswithoutproperinstruction.Onlytrained
operatorswhohavereadthismanualshouldoperatethe
tractionunitorcuttingunits.
•Neveroperatethecuttingunitswhenundertheinuence
ofdrugsoralcohol.
•Keepallshieldsandsafetydevicesinplace.Ifashield,
safetydeviceordecalisillegibleordamaged,repairor
replaceitbeforeoperationiscommenced.Alsotighten
anyloosenuts,bolts,andscrewstoensurethatthecutting
unitisinsafeoperatingcondition.
•Alwayswearsubstantialshoes.Donotoperatethecutting
unitswhilewearingsandals,tennisshoes,orsneakers.
Also,donotwearloosettingclothingwhichcouldget
caughtinmovingparts.Alwayswearlongpants.Wearing
safetyglasses,safetyshoesandahelmetisadvisable
andrequiredbysomelocalordinancesandinsurance
regulations.
•Removealldebrisorotherobjectsthatmightbepicked
upandthrownbythecuttingunitreelblades.Keepall
bystandersawayfromtheworkingarea.
•Ifthecuttingbladesstrikeasolidobjectortheunit
vibratesabnormally,stopandshuttheengineoff.Check
cuttingunitfordamagedparts.Repairanydamagebefore
startingandoperatingthecuttingunit.
•Lowerthecuttingunitstotheground,andremovekey
fromignitionswitchwheneveryouleavethemachine
unattended.
•Ensurethatthecuttingunitsareinsafeoperating
conditionbykeepingnuts,bolts,andscrewstight.
•Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchtopreventthe
enginefromaccidentlystartingwhenservicing,adjusting,
orstoringthemachine.
•Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructionsdescribed
inthismanual.Formajorrepairsorassistance,contactan
AuthorizedToroDistributor.
•Toensureoptimumperformanceandsafety,always
purchasegenuineTororeplacementpartsandaccessories
tokeeptheToroallToro.Neveruse"will-t"
replacementpartsandaccessoriesmadebyother
manufacturers.Usingunapprovedreplacementparts
andaccessoriescouldvoidthewarranty.
