shaft.
8.Threadthebedbar-adjusterscrewintothe
adjustershaft.
9.Looselyinstallthehardenedwasher,spring,and
springtensionnutontotheadjusterscrew.
10.Installthebedbar,positioningthemountingears
betweenthewasherandthebedbaradjuster.
11.Securethebedbartoeachsideplatewiththe
bedbarbolts(nutsonbolts)and6washers.
Note:Positionanylonwasheroneachsideof
theside-plateboss.
12.Placeasteelwasheroutsideeachofthenylon
washers(Figure43).
13.T orquethebedbarboltsto37to45N∙m(27to
33ft-lb).
14.Tightenthelocknutsuntiltheoutsidesteel
washerstopsrotatingandendplayisremoved
butdonotovertightenordeectthesideplates.

15.Tightenthenutoneachbedbar-adjuster
assemblyuntilthecompressionspringisfully
compressed,thenloosenthenut1/2turn(Figure
43).
