Subject: Plastic tray to protect frame from battery acid.
Battery Tray (93-1433) is now available for installation into the units listed above. The
Battery Tray catches any weeping from the battery to avoid potential battery fluid damage to
the surrounding areas. All future products will be equipped with the Battery Tray (shown
below) as standard.
Battery Tray Installation Instructions
for REELMASTER
®
450-D and 4500-D Reel Mowers
1. Loosen the Floor Plate retaining cap screws and remove the Floor Plate (holes are slotted).
2. Disconnect the Negative and Positive Cables from the Battery.
3. Remove the clamp at the rear of the Battery and lift the Battery out of the area.
NOTE:
To further enhance the possibility of reducing corrosion in this area, material may be removed from
the A-Frame that is directly under Hydraulic Lines (58-4760) and (58-4880). This will reduce
grass and debris buildup under the hydraulic lines and allow easier cleaning of the area.
4. Install Battery Tray (93-1433) so that the raised flanged section covers the 2 hydraulic lines on the
right hand side.
5. Place the Battery into Battery Tray (93-1433) and clamp Battery and Tray with the existing clamps.
6. Reinstall the Positive and Negative Battery Cables.
7. Replace the Floor Plate and tighten retaining cap screws.
