Counterbalance
Youcanadjustthecounterbalanceontherear
cuttingunitliftarmstocompensatefordifferentturf
conditionsandtomaintainauniformheight-of-cutin
theroughconditionsorinareasofthatchbuildup.
Youcanadjusteachcounterbalancespringtooneof
foursettings.Eachincrementincreasesordecreases
counterbalanceonthecuttingunitby5lb(2.3kg).The
springscanbepositionedonthebacksideofthespring
actuatortoremoveallcounterbalance(forthposition).
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,stoptheengine,engagetheparking
brakes,andremovethekeyfromignitionswitch.
2.Insertatubeorsimilarobjectontothelong
springendtorelievethespringtensionduringthe
adjustment(
Figure41).
CAUTION
Thespringsareundertension.
Usecautionwhenadjustingthem.
3.Whilerelievingthespringtension,removethebolt
andlocknutsecuringthespringactuatortothe
bracket(Figure41).
