1.Turnbedbaradjusterscrews,counterclockwise,toback
bedknifeawayfromreel(Figure30).

2.Securebedbartoeachsideplatewithbedbarbolts
(nutsonbolts)and6washers.
3.Positionanylonwasheroneachsideofsideplateboss.
4.Placeasteelwasheroutsideeachofthenylonwashers
(Figure32).
Note:Torquethebedbarboltsto37–45N-m(27–33
ft-lb).Tightenthelocknutsuntiltheoutsidesteel
washerstopsrotatingandendplayisremoved,but
donotovertightenordeectsideplates.Washerson
insidemayhaveagap.
5.Tightenthespringtensionnutuntilthespringis
collapsed,thenbackoff1/2turn(Figure33).
