Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,someone
couldaccidentlystarttheengineandseriously
injureyouorotherbystanders.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionbeforeyoudoany
maintenance.

Carefullyreadallsafetyinstructionsandsymbolsinthe
safetysection.Knowingthisinformationcouldhelpyouor
bystandersavoidinjury.
DANGER
Operatingonwetgrassorsteepslopescancause
slidingandlossofcontrol.
Wheelsdroppingoveredgescancauserollovers,
whichmayresultinseriousinjury,death,or
drowning.
Readandfollowtherolloverprotectioninstructions
andwarnings.
Toavoidlossofcontrolandpossibilityofrollover:
Donotoperateneardrop-offsornearwater.
Donotoperateonslopesgreaterthanspecied
foryourmachinemodel.
Reducespeedanduseextremecautionon
slopes.
Avoidsuddenturnsorrapidspeedchanges.

Thismachineproducessoundlevelsthatcancause
hearinglossthroughextendedperiodsofexposure.

CheckingtheLevelofthe
EngineOil
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;however,the
oillevelmustbecheckedbeforeandaftertheengineisrst
started.
Thecrankcasecapacityisapproximately9.5L(10USqt)with
thelter.
Usehigh-qualityengineoilthatmeetsthefollowing
specications:
APIClassicationLevelRequired:CH-4,CI-4,orhigher.
Preferredoil:SAE15W-40:above18°C(0°F)
Alternateoil:SAE10W-30or5W-30(alltemperatures)
Note:ToroPremiumEngineoilisavailablefromyour
distributorineither15W-40or10W-30viscosity.Seethe
partscatalogforpartnumbers.
Note:Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhenthe
engineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedfortheday.Ifit
hasalreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrainbackdownto
thesumpforatleast10minutesbeforechecking.Ifthe
oillevelisatorbelowtheAddmarkonthedipstick,add
oiltobringtheoilleveltotheFullmark.Donotoverll
theengine.IftheoillevelisbetweentheFullandAdd
marks,nooiladditionisrequired.
