CheckingtheTirePressure

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily

Thetiresareoverinatedforshipping.Therefore,release

someoftheairtoreducethepressure.Thecorrectair

pressureinthetiresis83to103kPa(12to15psi).Check

thetirepressuredaily.

Important:Maintaintherecommendedpressureinall

tirestoensureagoodqualityofcutandpropermachine

performance.Donotunderinatethetires.

StartingandStoppingthe

Engine

StartingtheEngine

Important:Bleedthefuelsystemifanyofthefollowing

situationshaveoccurred:

•Theenginehasceasedrunningduetolackoffuel.

•Maintenancehasbeenperformeduponthefuelsystem

components.

1.Removeyourfootfromthetractionpedalandensure

thatthepedalisintheNEUTRALposition.

Note:Ensurethattheparkingbrakeisset.

2.Movetheengine-speedswitchtothelowidleposition.

3.TurntheignitionkeytotheRUNposition.

Note:Theglowindicatorwilllight.

4.Whentheglowindicatordims,turntheignitionkey

totheStartposition.

5.Releasethekeyimmediatelywhentheenginestartsand

allowittoreturntotheRunposition.

6.Adjusttheenginespeed.

Important:Donotrunthestartermotormore

than15secondsatatimeorprematurestarter

failuremayresult.Iftheenginefailstostartafter15

seconds,turnthekeytotheOffposition,recheck

thecontrolsandprocedures,wait15additional

seconds,andrepeatthestartingprocedure.

Whenthetemperatureislessthan-7°C(20°F),the

startermotorcanberunfor30secondsonthen60

secondsofffor2attempts.

CAUTION

Contactwithmovingpartscouldcauseinjury.

Shuttheengineoffandwaitforallmoving

partstostopbeforecheckingforoilleaks,

looseparts,andothermalfunctions.

StoppingtheEngine

Important:Allowtheenginetoidlefor5minutesbefore

shuttingitoffafterafull-loadoperation.Thisallowsthe

turbochargertocooldownbeforeshuttingtheengine

off.Failuretodosomayleadtoturbochargertrouble.

Note:Lowerthecuttingunitstothegroundwheneveryou

parkthemachine.Thisrelievesthehydraulicloadfromthe

system,preventswearonsystemparts,andalsoprevents

accidentalloweringofthecuttingunits.

1.Returntheenginespeedtolowidle.

2.MovethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition.

3.Settheparkingbrake.

4.RotatetheignitionkeytoOFF.
