1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Cleantheareaaroundthe3drainplugs,1oneachend
and1inthecenter(Figure69).

3.Removetheoil-level-checkplugsandthemainaxle
ventcaptoeaseindrainingoftheoil.
4.Removethedrainplugsandallowtheoiltodraininto
thepans.
5.Installtheplugs.
6.Removeacheckplugandlltheaxlewith
approximately2.37L(80oz)of85W-140gearlube
oruntiltheoilisuptothebottomofthehole.
7.Installthecheckplug.
CheckingtheLubricantinthe
GearboxoftheRearAxle
ServiceInterval:Every400hours
ThegearboxislledwithSAE85W-140gearlube.Checkthe
oillevelbeforetheengineisrststartedandevery400hours
thereafter.Thecapacityis0.5L(16oz).Visuallyinspect
forleaksdaily.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Removethecheck/llplugfromtheleftsideofthe
gearbox(Figure70)andmakesurethatlubricantis
uptothebottomofthehole.Ifthelevelislow,add
enoughlubricanttobringtheleveluptothebottom
ofthehole.

AdjustingtheTractionDrive
forNeutral
Themachinemustnotcreepwhenthetractionpedalis
released.Ifitdoescreep,anadjustmentisrequired.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shuttheengine
off,positionthespeedcontrolintothelowrange,and
lowerthecuttingunitstotheoor.
2.Pressonlytherightbrakepedalandengagetheparking
brake.
3.Jackuptheleftsideofthemachineuntiltheleftfront
tireisofftheshopoor.Supportthemachinewith
jackstandstopreventitfromfallingaccidentally.
4.Starttheengineandallowitrunatlowidle.
5.Adjustthejamnutsonthepumprodendtomovethe
pumpcontroltubeforwardtoeliminateforwardcreep
orrearwardtoeliminaterearwardcreep(Figure71).
