Subject: Engine Temperature Gauge Indicates Hot Engine Condition.
Machines (listed above) were produced with the Peugeot XUD9-AI version engine
which uses a single, double function sending unit for the Temperature Gauge and
overheat shut-down. The Gauge portion of the Sending Unit can be incorrectly matched
to the Gauge, and can give inaccurate engine temperature readings. This can result in
a Temperature Gauge needle that reads high in the green zone, in-between the green
and red zone or slightly in the red during normal operation, even though the engine
does not actually overheat or shut down.
The issue can be corrected by installing a separate Temperature Gauge Sending Unit
(76-5380) and Sender Wire Harness (100-6182) to an existing auxiliary port in the
engine Thermostat Housing. This separate Sending Unit is correctly calibrated to the
Temperature Gauge to ensure accurate readings.

Drain approx. a gallon of
Coolant. Remove existing
auxiliary Plug.

Apply sealant to tapered
portion of Sending Unit and
install.
3.
Install Harness (100-6182)
between original Connector and
sending units. Refill w/coolant.
