Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachine
fromthenormaloperatingposition.
CheckingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;however,the
oillevelmustbecheckedbeforeandaftertheengineisrst
started.
Crankcasecapacityisapproximately7liters(7.5quarts)with
thelter.
Usehigh-qualityengineoilthatmeetsthefollowing
specications:
•APIClassicationLevelRequired:CH-4,CI-4orhigher.
•Preferredoil:SAE15W-40(above0°F)
•Alternateoil:SAE10W-30or5W-30(alltemperatures)
Note:ToroPremiumEngineoilisavailablefromyour
distributorineither15W-40or10W-30viscosity.Seethe
partscatalogforpartnumbers.
Note:Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhenthe
engineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedfortheday.Ifithas
alreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrainbackdowntothe
sumpforatleast10minutesbeforechecking.Iftheoillevel
isatorbelowthe“add”markonthedipstick,addoiltobring
theoilleveltothe“full”mark.DONOTOVERFILL.If
theoillevelisbetweenthe“full”and“add”marks,nooil
additionisrequired.

Cleandebrisoffscreen,oilcoolerandfrontofradiatordaily,
moreoftenifconditionsareextremelydustyanddirty;refer
toRemovingDebrisinCoolingSystemMaintenance.
Thecoolingsystemislledwitha50/50solutionofwater
andpermanentethyleneglycolantifreeze.Checklevelof
coolantinradiatorandexpansiontankatthebeginningof
eachdaybeforestartingtheengine.Capacityofcooling
systemis9.4liters(10quarts).
