2.TurnignitionswitchtoOn/Preheatposition.An
automatictimerwillcontrolpreheatforapproximately
6seconds.Afterpreheat,turnkeytoStartposition.
Cranktheenginefornolongerthan15seconds.
Releasekeywhenenginestarts.Ifadditionalpreheatis
required,turnkeytoOffpositionthentoOn/Preheat
position.Repeatprocessasrequired.
3.Runengineatidlespeedorpartialthrottleuntilengine
warmsup.
4.Tostop,moveallcontrolstoNeutralandsetparking
brake.Returnthrottletotheidleposition,turnkeyto
OFFandremoveitfromswitch.
Important:Allowenginetoidlefor5minutes
beforeshuttingitoffafterafullloadoperation.
Failuretodosomayleadtoturbo-chargertrouble.
Note:Werecommendthatanytimethemachineis
parked(shortorlongterm)thecuttingunitsshouldbe
loweredtotheground.Thisrelievespressurefromthe
liftcircuitandeliminatestheriskofthecuttingunits
accidentallyloweringtotheground.
BleedingtheFuelSystem
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.Makesurefuel
tankisatleasthalffull.
2.Unlatchandraisehood.
DANGER
Undercertainconditions,dieselfuelandfuel
vaporsarehighlyammableandexplosive.A
reorexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouand
othersandcancausepropertydamage.
Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,
inanopenarea,whentheengineisoffand
iscold.Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.
Addfueltothefueltankuntilthelevelis25
mm(1inch)belowthebottomoftheller
neck.Thisemptyspaceinthetankallows
thefueltoexpand.
Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwherefuel
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
Storefuelinaclean,safety-approved
containerandkeepthecapinplace.

Note:Normally,engineshouldstartafterabove
bleedingproceduresarefollowed.However,ifengine
doesnotstart,airmaybetrappedbetweeninjection
pumpandinjectors;refertoBleedingAirFrom
InjectorsintheMaintenanceSection.
