Individually,changeeachoftheswitchesfromopento
closed(i.e.,sitonseat,engagetractionpedal,etc.),and
notethattheappropriateLEDonDiagnosticACEwill
blinkonandoffwhencorrespondingswitchisclosed.
Repeatoneachswitchthatispossibletobechanged
byhand.
7.IfswitchisclosedandappropriateLEDdoesnot
turnon,checkallwiringandconnectionstoswitch
and/orcheckswitcheswithanohmmeter.Replaceany
damagedswitchesandrepairanydamagedwiring.
TheDiagnosticACEalsohastheabilitytodetect
whichoutputsolenoidsorrelaysareturnedon.Thisis
aquickwaytodetermineifamachinemalfunctionis
electricalorhydraulic.
Toverifyoutputfunction:
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,
stoptheengineandengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Opencontrolpanelcover.Locatewireharnessand
connectorsnearcontroller.Carefullyunplugloopback
connectorfromharnessconnector.
3.ConnecttheDiagnosticACEconnectortothe
harnessconnector.Makesurecorrectoverlaydecalis
positionedonDiagnosticACE.
4.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOnposition,butdonot
startmachine.
Note:Theredtextontheoverlaydecalreferstoinput
switchesandthegreentextreferstooutputs.
5.The“outputsdisplayed”LED,onlowerrightcolumn
ofDiagnosticACE,shouldbeilluminated.If“inputs
displayed”;LEDisilluminated,pressthetogglebutton,
onDiagnosticACE,tochangeLEDto“outputs
displayed.
Note:Itmaybenecessarytotogglebetween“inputs
displayed”and“outputsdisplayed”severaltimestodo
thefollowingstep.Totogglebackandforth,press
togglebuttononce.Thismaybedoneasoftenas
required.Donotholdthebutton.
6.Sitontheseatandattempttooperatethedesired
functionofthemachine.Theappropriateoutput
LED'sshouldilluminatetoindicatethattheECUis
turningonthatfunction.(RefertoHydraulicSolenoid
ValveFunctionstobecertainofthespeciedoutput
LEDs.)
Note:IfanyoutputLEDisblinking,thisindicatesan
electricalproblemwiththatOUTPUT.Repair/replace
defectiveelectricalpartsimmediately.Toreseta
blinkingLED,turnthekeyswitch“Off”,thenback
“On”andclearthecontrollersfaultmemory(Refer
toClearingtheFaultMemoryinFaultMemoryand
Retrieval).
IfnooutputLEDsareblinking,butthecorrectoutput
LED'sdonotilluminate,verifythattherequiredinput
switchesareinthenecessarypositionstoallowthat
functiontooccur.Verifycorrectswitchfunction.
IftheoutputLEDsareonasspecied,butthe
machinedoesnotfunctionproperly,thisindicatesa
non-electricalproblem.Repairasnecessary.
Note:Duetoelectricalsystemconstraints,theoutput
LED'sfor“Start”,“Preheat”and“ETR/ALT”may
notblinkeventhoughanelectricalproblemmayexist
forthosefunctions.Ifthemachineproblemappearsto
bewithoneofthesefunctions,becertaintocheckthe
electricalcircuitwithavolt/ohmmetertoverifythat
noelectricalproblemexiststothesefunctions.
Ifeachinputswitchisinthecorrectpositionand
functioningcorrectly,buttheoutputLEDsarenot
correctlyilluminated,thisindicatesanECUproblem.
Ifthisoccurs,contactyourToroDistributorfor
assistance.
FaultMemoryandRetrieval
IftheControllersensesafaultononeoftheoutput
solenoids,itwillashthemachinesdiagnosticLamp(Reel
DiagnosticLamponconsoleorGreenDiagnosticLamp
underconsole)andstorethefaultintotheControllers(ECU)
memory.Thefaultcanthenberetrievedandviewedwiththe
DiagnosticACEhandheldtooloralaptop/PCatanytime.
TheControllerwillstoreone(1)faultatatimeandwillnot
storeanotherdifferentfaultuntiltherstfaultiscleared.
RetrievingFaultInformation
RetrievingStoredFaults(Donotsitinseat)
1.RotateignitionkeytoOffposition.
2.ConnecttheHandheldDiagnosticTooltothedesired
ControllerLoopbackConnector(usetheproper
overlay).
3.MovetheJoysticktotheRaisepositionandhold.
4.RotateignitionkeytoOnposition,andcontinueto
holdtheJoystickinRaisepositionuntilthetopleft
DiagnosticToollightcomeson(approx.2seconds).
5.ReleasetheJoysticktothecenterposition.
6.HandheldToolwillnowplaybackthefaultretained
intheControllermemory.
Important:Thedisplaywillshoweight(8)
individualrecordswiththefaultdisplayedonthe
8threcord.Eachrecordwillbedisplayedfor10
seconds.BesuretohavetheDiagnosticTool
displayonOutputstoseefault.TheProblem
circuitwillbeashing.Recordswillrepeatuntil
keyisturnedoff.Unitwillnotstartinthismode.
ClearingtheFaultMemory(DiagnosticToolnot
required)
