Undercertainconditions,dieselfuelandfuel
vaporsarehighlyammableandexplosive.Are
orexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouandothersand
cancausepropertydamage.
•Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,in
anopenarea,whentheengineisoffandiscold.
Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
•Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Addfuel
tothefueltankuntilthelevelis25mm(1inch)
belowthebottomofthellerneck.Thisempty
spaceinthetankallowsthefueltoexpand.
•Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstayaway
fromanopenameorwherefuelfumesmaybe
ignitedbyaspark.
•Storefuelinaclean,safety-approvedcontainer
andkeepthecapinplace.

Checklinesandconnectionsevery400hoursoryearly,
whichevercomesrst.Inspectfordeterioration,damage,
orlooseconnections.

Drainwaterorothercontaminantsfromfuellter/water
separator(Figure58)daily.
1.Locatefuellter,underhood,andplaceaclean
containerunderit.
2.Loosendrainplugonbottomofltercanister.Tighten
plugafterdraining.
