Situation:
Front outer cutting units hydraulic hoses have the potential to be incorrectly orientated.
This improper orientation can reduce the service life of the hydraulic hose and increase
the potential for hydraulic leaks.
Instructions:
During service, inspect front outer cutting unit hydraulic hoses for proper orientation,
routing and to make sure they are free from hydraulic leaks or hose damage.
Reference Figure 1 and 2 for details. This will ensure maximum service life of the
hydraulic hoses on your Reelmaster 3555/ 3575 product.
Complete by turning hydraulic hose on front outer cutting units inward (toward reel)
by 8°-10° from vertical position as shown in Figure 1. When hoses are adjusted
properly, the hose shall not be pulled tight when the reel is in the down position.
Complete process by loosening the straight fitting to remove any twist in the
hydraulic hose and allow it to relax. Finish by tightening straight fitting with the use of
a back-up wrench to keep hose from twisting during the tightening process.
Checking the Hydraulic Lines and Hoses:
Service Interval: Before each use or daily.
Park the machine on a level surface, lower the cutting units, engage the parking
brake, shut off the engine, and remove the key from the ignition switch.
Check the hydraulic lines and hoses for leaks, kinked lines, loose mounting supports,
wear, loose fittings, weather deterioration, and chemical deterioration. Make all
necessary repairs before operating the machine.
