WARNING
Contactwiththecuttingunitsorothermoving
partscanresultinpersonalinjury.
•Keepyourngers,hands,andclothing
awayfromthecuttingunitsandother
movingparts.
•Neverattempttoturnthecuttingunitsby
handorfootwhiletheengineisrunning.
Note:Whenbacklapping,allthecuttingunitsoperate
together.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andmovetheEnable/Disableswitch
totheDISABLEposition.
2.Raisetheoorpaneltoexposethecontrols.
3.Maketheinitialreel-to-bedknifeadjustments
appropriateforbacklapping;refertothecutting
unitOperator'sManual.
4.Starttheengineandallowittorunatlowidle
speed.
DANGER
Changingtheenginespeedwhile
backlappingmaycausethecuttingunits
tostall.
•Neverchangetheenginespeedwhile
backlapping
•Backlaponlyatidleenginespeed.

proceeding.
7.WiththeMow/TransportleverintheMOW
position,movetheEnable/Disableswitchto
theENABLEposition.MovetheLowerMow/Lift
controlforwardtostartthebacklappingoperation
onthedesignatedcuttingunits.
8.Applylappingcompoundwithalong-handle
brush.Neveruseashort-handledbrush.
9.Ifthecuttingunitsstallorbecomeerraticwhile
backlapping,selectahigherreelspeedsetting
untilthespeedstabilizes,thenreturnthereel
speedtosetting1ortoyourdesiredspeed.
10.Tomakeanadjustmenttothecuttingunitswhile
backlapping,turnthecuttingunitsoffbymoving
theLowerMow/Raiseleverrearward;the
Enable/DisableswitchtotheDISABLEposition,
andshutofftheengine.Aftercompletingthe
adjustments,repeatsteps5through9.
11.Repeattheprocedureforallthecuttingunits
thatyouwanttobacklap.
12.Whenyouarenished,returnthebacklaplever
totheMOWposition,lowertheoorpanel,and
washalllappingcompoundoffofthecutting
