ServicingtheEngineBelts
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst10hours—Checkthe
conditionandtensionofallbelts.
Every100hours—Checktheconditionand
tensionofallbelts.
TensioningtheAlternator/FanBelt
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andremovethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
2.Openthehood.
3.Checkthebelttensionbypressingthebelt
midwaybetweenthealternatorandcrankshaft
pulleys.
Note:With98N(22lb)offorce,thebeltshould
deect11mm(7/16inch).

A.Loosentheboltsecuringthebracetothe
engineandtheboltsecuringthealternator
tothebrace.
B.Insertaprybarbetweenthealternatorand
engineandprythealternatoroutward.
C.Whenthepropertensionisachieved,
tightenthealternatorandbraceboltsto
securetheadjustment.
ReplacingtheHydrostatDriveBelt
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andremovethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
2.Insertanutdriverorsmallpieceoftubingonto
theendofthebelttensioningspring.
WARNING
Thespringisunderaheavyloadand
couldcausepersonalinjury
Usecautionwhende-tensioningthe
spring.
3.Pushdownandforwardonthespringend
(Figure74)tounhookitfromthebracketand
releasetensiononthespring.
