9.Ifthereelsstallorbecomeerraticwhile
backlapping,selectahigherreelspeedsetting
untilthespeedstabilizes,thenreturnthereel
speedtosetting1ortoyourdesiredspeed.
10.Tomakeanadjustmenttothecuttingunits
whilebacklapping,turnthereelsoffbymoving
theLowerMow/Raiseleverrearward;the
Enable/DisableswitchtotheDISABLEposition,
andshutofftheengine.Aftercompleting
adjustments,repeatsteps5through9.
11.Repeattheprocedureforallthecuttingunits
thatyouwanttobacklap.
12.Whenyouarenished,returnthebacklaplever
totheMOWposition,lowertheoorpanel,and
washalllappingcompoundoffofthecutting
units.Adjustthecuttingunitreel-to-bedknife
contactasneeded.Movethecuttingunitreel
speedcontroltothedesiredmowingposition.
Important:Ifthebacklapswitchisnot
returnedtotheF(Mow)positionafter
backlapping,thecuttingunitswillnotraise
orfunctionproperly.
Note:Forabettercuttingedge,runaleacross
thefrontfaceofthebedknifeafterlapping.This
willremoveanyburrsorroughedgesthatmay
havebuiltuponthecuttingedge.
Storage
StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredmorethan30days,
removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Store
thebatteryinacoolatmospheretoavoidquick
deteriorationofthechargeinthebattery.Toprevent
thebatteryfromfreezing,makesurethatitisfully
charged.Thespecicgravityofafullychargedbattery
is1.265to1.299.
PreparingtheMachinefor
SeasonalStorage
Followtheseproceduresanytimethatyoustorethe
machineformorethan30days.
PreparingtheTractionUnit
1.Thoroughlycleanthetractionunit,thecutting
units,andtheengine.
2.Checkthetirepressure.Inatealltiresto83
kPa(12psi).
3.Checkallfastenersforlooseness;tightenas
necessary.
4.Greaseoroilallgreasettingsandpivotpoints.
Wipeupanyexcesslubricant.
5.Lightlysandandusetouch-uppaintonpainted
areasthatarescratched,chipped,orrusted.
Repairanydentsinthemetalbody.
6.Servicethebatteryandcablesasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthe
batteryposts.
B.Removethebattery.
C.Slowlyrechargethebatterybeforestorage
andevery60daysthereafterfor24hoursto
preventleadsulfationofthebattery.
Topreventthebatteryfromfreezing,make
surethatitisfullycharged.Thespecic
gravityofafullychargedbatteryis1.265
to1.299.
D.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswith
awirebrushandbakingsodasolution.
E.Coatthecableterminalsandbatteryposts
withGrafo112Xskin-overgrease(T oroPart
No.505-47)orpetroleumjellytoprevent
corrosion.
F.Eitherstoreitontheshelforonthe
machineinacoolarea.Leavethecables
disconnectedifitisstoredonthemachine.
