performance.

AdjustingtheTraction
DriveforNeutral
Ifthemachinemoveswhenthetractionpedalisinthe
NEUTRALposition,adjustthetractioncam.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andremovethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
2.Raiseafrontwheelandarearwheelofftheoor
andplacesupportblocksundertheframe.
WARNING
Ifthemachineisnotsupported
adequately,itmayaccidentallyfall,
injuringanyoneunderthemachine.
Afrontwheelandarearwheelmustbe
raisedofftheground;otherwise,the
machinewillmoveduringadjustment.
3.Loosenthelocknutonthetractionadjustment
cam(Figure59).

bodypartsawayfromthemufer,other
hotpartsoftheengine,androtating
parts.
4.Starttheengineandrotatethecamhexinboth
directionstodeterminethemidpositionofthe
neutralspan.
5.Tightenthelocknutsecuringtheadjustment.
6.Shutofftheengine.
7.Removethesupportblocksandlowerthe
machinetotheshopoor.T estdrivethe
machinetoensurethatitdoesnotmovewhen
thetractionpedalisinneutral.
