Understandingthe
DiagnosticLight
Themachineisequippedwithadiagnosticlight
thatindicatesiftheelectroniccontrollersensesan
electronicfault.Thediagnosticlightislocatedon
thecontrolpanel(Figure46).Whentheelectronic
controllerisfunctioningcorrectlyandyoumovethe
keyswitchtotheONposition,thecontrollerdiagnostic
lightturnsonfor3secondsandturnofftoindicate
thatthelightisworkingproperly.
Iftheengineshutsoff,thediagnosticlightilluminates
steadyuntiltheyouchangekeyposition.Thelight
blinksifthecontrollerdetectsafaultintheelectrical
system.Afteryourepairthefault,thelightresets
whenyouturnthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition.

Beforemowinggrass,practiceoperatingthemachine
inanopenarea.Startandshutofftheengine.
Operateinforwardandreverse.Lowerandraise
thecuttingunitsandengageanddisengagethe
cuttingunits.Whenyoubecomemorefamiliarwith
themachine,practiceoperatingupanddownslopes
atdifferentspeeds.

System
Ifawarninglightcomesonduringoperation,stopthe
machineimmediatelyandcorrecttheproblembefore
continuingoperation.Seriousdamagecouldoccurif
youoperatethemachinewithamalfunction.

•Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
•Disengageandlowerthecuttingunits.
•Engagetheparkingbrake.
•Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
•Waitforallmovementtostop.
•Allowthemachinetocoolbeforeadjusting,
servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunits,
drives,mufers,coolingscreens,andengine
compartmenttohelppreventres.Cleanupoilor
fuelspills.
•Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwhenever
youarehaulingornotusingthemachine.
•Maintainandcleantheseatbelt(s)asnecessary.
•Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
TowingtheMachine
Incaseofanemergency,youcantowthemachinefor
ashortdistance;however,Torodoesnotrecommend
thisasastandardprocedure.
Important:Donottowthemachinefasterthan
3to4km/h(2to3mph)becauseitmaydamage
thedrivesystem.Ifyoumustmovethemachine
aconsiderabledistance,transportitonatruck
ortrailer.
