Tilt-SteeringLever
Pullthetilt-steeringlever(Figure21)backtotiltthe
steeringwheeltothedesiredposition.Thenpushthe
leverforwardtosecuretheposition.
IgnitionSwitch
Theignitionswitch(Figure23),usedtostart,stop,
andpreheattheengine,has3positions:OFF,
ON/PREHEAT,andSTART.Rotatethekeytothe
ON/PREHEATpositionuntiltheglow-plugindicator
lightgoesout(approximately7seconds);thenrotate
thekeytotheSTARTpositiontoengagethestarter
motor.Releasethekeywhentheenginestarts.The
keymovesautomaticallytotheON/RUNposition.T o
shutofftheengine,rotatethekeytotheOFFposition.
Removethekeyfromtheswitchtopreventaccidental
starting.

Movethethrottle(Figure23)forwardtoincreasethe
enginespeedandrearwardtodecreasetheengine
speed.
Enable/DisableSwitch
Usetheenable/disableswitch(Figure23)in
conjunctionwiththelowermow/raisecontrolleverto
operatethecuttingunits.Thecuttingunitscannot
beloweredwhenthemow/transportleverisinthe
transportposition.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure23)indicatesthetotalhoursof
machineoperation.Thehourmeterstartstofunction
wheneverthekeyswitchisintheONposition.
LowerMow/RaiseControlLever
Thislever(Figure23)raisesandlowersthecutting
unitsandalsostartsandstopsthecutterheads
whenthecutterheadsareenabledinthemowmode.
Thecuttingunitscannotbeloweredwhenthe
mow/transportleverisinthetransportposition.
Note:Whenthecuttingunitsareenabled,thelever
doesnothavetobeheldintheforwardpositionwhile
thecuttingunitsareloweredorraised.
EngineCoolantTemperature
WarningLight
Thetemperaturewarninglight(Figure23)glowsif
theenginecoolanttemperatureishigh.Thecutting
unitswillbedisabled.Ifthecoolanttemperaturerises
another5.5°C(10°F),theenginewillbeshutoffto
preventfurtherdamage.
Oil-PressureWarningLight
Theoil-pressurewarninglight(Figure23)glowsifthe
engine-oilpressuredropsbelowasafelevel.
AlternatorLight
Thealternatorlight(Figure23)shouldbeoffwhen
theengineisrunning.Ifitison,thechargingsystem
shouldbecheckedandrepairedasnecessary.
Glow-PlugIndicator
Theglow-plugindicatorlight(Figure23)glowswhen
theglowplugsareoperating.
ParkingBrake
Whenevertheengineisshutoff,engagetheparking
brake(Figure23)topreventaccidentalmovementof
themachine.Toengagetheparkingbrake,pullupon
thelever.Theenginestopsifyoupressthetraction
pedalwiththeparkingbrakeengaged.
DiagnosticLight
Thediagnosticlight(Figure23)illuminateswhena
systemfaultoccurs.
