39.Checkthealignmentofthebelt/pulleysas

follows:

•Thebeltmustbeproperlytensioned

(installed)priortocheckingalignment.

•Layastraightedgealongtheouterfaceof

thedrivepulley(Figure24andFigure25).

Donotlaythestraightedgeacrossboththe

driveanddrivenpulleys.

pulleysshouldbeinlinewithin.76mm(.030

inch).

•Ifthepulleysarenotaligned,alignthe

pulleys;refertoCheckingandAdjustingthe

PulleyAlignment(page13).

•Ifthepulleysarealigned,continuewiththe

installation.

•Donotusetheidlerpulleytocheck

alignment.

Important:Thebeltmayfailprematurely

ifthepulleysarenotproperlyaligned.

40.Slidethebeltcoverontothemountingboltsand

securewith2angenuts(Figure26andFigure

27).

Important:Donotovertightenthenutsas

damagetothecovermayoccur.
