Subject: Damaged Fuel Gauge Gasket may cause fuel leak.
The Fuel Gauge Gasket may have been damaged when installed which may result in
fuel seeping around the gauge assembly.
If this condition is noted on any unit in the Serial Number Range listed above, contact
your local Toro Distributor to have Fuel Tank Gasket (104-2384) replaced at no charge.
Instructions for replacing the gasket are described below.
Warning: Failure to remedy a fuel leak may cause turf damage and could result in
product damage, property damage, or personal injury.
Instructions:
1. Drain all fuel from the fuel tank.
2. Remove the 2 screws that hold the fuel gauge to
the fuel tank (Figure 1).
3. Replace the gasket on the fuel gauge (Figure 2).
4. Lubricate the screw threads with oil and install the
screws into the gauge and gasket assembly.
5. Install the gauge assembly into the tank.
Important Note (see Figure 3):
For FE120D-DS02 engines with serial numbers
lower than FE120D101505 and FE120G-DS00
engines with serial numbers lower than
FE120G97068, position the float to the right when
inserting the gauge back into the tank. All others
are positioned to the left.
6. Tighten the retaining screws to 30 in-lb. (3.4 Nm).
