SpeedControl
Thespeedcontrol(Figure20andFigure22)islocatedon
therightrearsideofthecontrolpanel.Rotatethecontrol
toregulatethemachineground/cuttingspeed.Thecurrent
speedsettingisreectedontheInfoCenterLCDdisplay.
Note:Tomovethemachine,youmusthaveboththe
tractionleverengagedandthespeedcontroloffthezero
speedposition.

Ifyourotatethespeedcontroltothezerospeedsetting
(asfarbackaspossible)allcutting/transportactivitieswill
ceaseandthemachinewillstop.Ifyoudothiswhilemowing
(withthetraction/reeldriveleverengaged),themachinewill
stopwiththeautomaticmotorbrakeoff(refertoAutomatic
MotorBrake(page19))andyouwillbeabletopullthe
machinerearward.Movethespeedcontroloffofzerospeed
toresumecutting/transport.
TractionandReelDriveEngagement
Lever
Thetractionandreeldriveengagementlever(Figure23)is
locatedonthefrontrightsideofthecontrolpanel.For
transportoperation,theleverhas2positions:Neutraland
Forward.Pushingtheleverforwardengagesthetraction
drive.
Note:Tomovethelever,youmustrstengagethe
operator-presencecontrol.

Forreeloperation,theleverhas2positions:Engageand
Disengage.Movethetopofthelevertotheleft,thenforward
toengagethereelandbeginmowing.Pushthelevertothe
righttodisengagethereelandcontinueforwardmotionor
pullbackonittodisengageboththereelandthetraction
drive.
Note:Ifyoureleasetheoperator-presencecontrol,thelever
willreturntoNeutralandthemachinewillstop.
AutomaticMotorBrake
Themachineisequippedwithanautomaticmotorbrakethat
preventsitfromrollingwhenthemachineisstopped.The
motorbrakeisonwheneverthetractiondriveisinneutral
oryoumovethespeedcontroltothezerospeedposition,
exceptinthefollowingcircumstances:
•Whenthemachineisturnedoff,usetheparkingbrake
latchtosecurethemachinewhenitisturnedoff.
•Whenthemachineisstartedwiththekeyswitch,the
motorbrakeisinitiallydisengaged.Afterdrivingthe
machine,themotorbrakewillfunctionnormally.
•Ifyoumovethespeedcontroltozerospeedwhilethe
reelsareengaged(i.e.,whilemowing),thebrakewillnot
engage.Thisfeatureallowsyoutomovetothezero
positionwhilemowingandpullthemachinerearward
tomakecoursecorrections.
