Onlyusethechargerdesignedforthebattery

ChargingtheBatteryPack
Chargethebatterypackwhenyouarenishedmowingfor
thedaytoensurethatitisfullychargedforthenextday’s
mowing.Unlikeotherbatterytypes,lithiumionbatteriesdo
nothaveachargememoryissueanddonotneedtobefully
dischargedbeforechargingthem.
RefertotheLithiumIonBatteryChargerOperator’sManualfor
detailedinstructionsonchargingthebatterypack.
Ifyouwillbestoringthemowerformorethan10days,ensure
thatyouplaceitonthechargerandleavethechargerturned
on.After10daysofinactivity,thechargerwillautomatically
switchtostoragemode,duringwhichitreducesandmaintains
thechargeto40%ofmaximum.Referto(page)formore
informationonstoringthemachineandforremovingthe
batteryfromstoragemode.
TransportingtheBatteryPack
TheUSDepartmentofTransportationandinternational
transportationauthoritiesrequirethatlithiumionbatteriesbe
transportedusingspecialpackagingandonlybetransported
bycarrierscertiedtohaulthem.IntheUSA,youare
allowedtotransportthebatterywhenitisinstalledonthe
machineasbatterypoweredequipment,withsomeregulatory
requirements.ContacttheUSDepartmentofTransportation
ortheappropriategovernmentbodyinyourcountryfor
detailedregulationsontransportationofyoureFlexoreFlex
battery.

Aswithallrechargeablebatteries,lithiumionbatterieshave
alifespanduringwhichtheywillholdasufcientcharge
toperformtheworkforwhichtheyareintended.Astime
goesby,thetotalamountofworkthebatterywillbeable
tocompleteonasinglechargewillgraduallydiminish.The
followingtableliststheapproximateexpectedworkthatthe
machineshouldbecapableofovertherstveyearsofuse:

Toachievemaximumlifeandusefromyourbattery,apply
thefollowingcareguidelines:
Donotopenthebatterypack.Therearenouser
serviceablepartsinside.Ifyouopenthepackyouwillvoid
yourwarranty.Thepackisprotectedbytamper-alerting
devices.
Store/parkthemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area,awayfromdirectsunlightandheatsources.Do
notstoreitinalocationwherethetemperaturewilldrop
below-13degreesF(-25degreesC)orriseabove113
degreesF(45degreesC).Temperaturesoutsideofthis
rangewilldamageyourbattery.Hightemperatures
duringstorage,especiallyatahighstateofcharge,will
reducethelifeofthebatteries.
Whenstoringformorethan10days,ensurethatthe
machineisinacoollocation,outofsunlight,and
connectedtothecharger.
Ifyouaremowinginhotconditionsorinsunlight,the
batterymayoverheat.Ifthishappens,ahightemperature
alertwillappearontheInfoCenterLCDdisplay.Inthis
condition,themachinewillnolongeroperatewiththe
reelengagedandthemachinewillslowdown.
Immediatelydrivethemachinetoacoollocationoutof
thesun,turnoffthemachine,andallowthebatteryto
coolfullybeforeresumingoperation.
Keepthebatterypackcoverclean.Thewhitecolor
reectssunlightandslowstheheatbuildupinthebattery
pack.Adirtycoverwillincreasetheheatinthebattery
packeachdayandwillreducetheenergycapacity.
Adjustthebedknifetoreelcontacttobeaslightas
possible.Thiswillreducethepowerneededtorunthe
reelandincreasetheamountofworkthemachinewill
performoneachcharge.
