CONFIGURATION: Tricycle vehicle with front two wheels providing drive and rear wheel steering. Operator sits over driving {front) wheels and No. 1 cutting unit, with Nos. 2 & 3 cutting units in front of vehicle. The GREENS MASTER 3 is shipped with cutting units, seat, battery, loose pairs bag and baskets, all in one crate. To remove the GREENS MASTER 3 from the crate, proceed as follows: 1. Remove top of crate. 2. Remove the banding material halt retains steering column to side of crate. 3. Loosen wires securing crate sides and remove sides of crate, 4. Remove the banding that retains the cutting unit boxes and set the cutting units aside for later installation. 6.

After the steering assembly has been mounted, remove the banding that retains the steering cables and mount them, as shown, to the large pulley on top of the rear wheel, using 2 1/2" and a 3/8"" wrench. PREPARATION BEFORE STARTING FILLING ENGINE WITH OIL 1. Place GREENS MASTER 3 on a level surface. 2. Pour sufficient amount of oif into engine crankcase to raise to "FULL" level marking on dipstick. DO NOT OVERFILL. 3. Crankcase capacity is four (4} pints. 4. Use API service MS [summer SAE 30, winter SAE B5W-20}. See Kohl er engine manual for proper oil detection. 6. Check oil level and replace dipstick.

FOOT REST MOWER PEDAL LIFT PEDAL Depressing the Lift Pedal during operation automatically stops the reels from turning and sifts the cutting units. Lift pedal must be FULLY depressed until cutting units are fully raised FOGY REST The Foot Testis to be used during transport for operator's comfort.

SHIFT SELECTOR LEVER AND ENGINE CHOKE Shift Selector — The shift selector is located on the right side of the GREENS MASTER 3 and has four {4} positions, 1t is permissible to shift through the four (4} shift selector positions while in motion without damaging the drive system. {1y Neutral Used for starting GREENS MASTER Position ~ Used for greens cutting. {3} No. 2 Position — Used for transporting. {4) Reverse — Used for backing up.

MAINTENANCE (Cont'd.) ENGINE CARE {Cont'd.} WARNING The GREENSWARD 3 engine is equipped with a solid state electrical ignition system. Never stop this machine by removing spark plug wire. Do not perform any welding maintenance unless regulator rectifier has been disconnected. SERVICING THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM 1. The hydraulic fluid is drained by removing the drain plug on the bottom of the hydraulic reservoir. Only the reservoir needs to be drained.

MAINTENANCE (Cont’d.) REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF TRACTION PUMP The traction pump is replaced as follows: 1. Disconnect the hydraulic lines to the pump. Remove the bolts mounting the traction pump to the engine and slide pump off engine shaft. 3. Make sure mounting surfaces are clean before replacing the traction pump. 4, install pump with slot in torque arm over pin in engine face. 5. Place dial indicator upon the traction pump and rotate engine to make sure it is ruining true. .
MAINTENANCE (Cont'd.) REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF REEL RIVE PUMP {Cont’d.} 8. Remove the pump by removing the bolts anchoring the reel drive pump to the frame. 7. Remove the hydraulic tings from the reel drive pump that goes o the reel valve bank. 8. Replacement of the reel drive pump is accomplished by proceeding with step 7 first and on to step 1 last. Pour oif into pump before reinstalling.

Traction motor is mounted inside the GREENS MASTER 3 frame. |1 can be removed after the mounting bolts and nuts are removed. NOTE: Place a pan under the traction motor and lines to drain hydraulic fluid that is contained inside the components Yo avoid spilling.
MAINTENANCE (Cont’d.) SERVICING THE PULL FRAME AND ROLLER ASSEMBLY The pull frame and roller assembly are disassembled by the following procedure 1. Disconnect the pull rods from each end of the cutting units and slide cutting units forward. 2. Remove cutting units from beneath pull frame. 3. Loosen and remove the lock bolt securing the pull frame pivot pin, 4. The pivot pin will then slide out of the mounting bracket allowing the yoke of the frame to be lifted away from the GREENS MASTER 3.

Reposition the pulley in the steering column in either one of the two (2) holes shown on page 27, F. Should it be necessary to service the pulley and steering cable under the steering whee!, the cover shown can be removed from the end of the steering column, IMPORTANT Make sure steering cables are properly aligned in pulleys before performing the tightening of steering cable.
