Subject: Mow Function Stops During Mowing.
The reel drive system on the units listed above may disengage when it should not. This
may be caused by an incorrectly adjusted mow detent, incorrectly adjusted valve
linkage, or mow pedal interference with the frame. If these items are inspected and
found to be correct, the problem may be remedied with the installation of a stronger
Detent Spring (99-1475) Repair steps follow.
Note: OTC Tool TOR 4091 works well to rotate the Adjustment Cap.
1. Remove the Adjustment Screw from the #1 (operators left side) valve spool
2. Remove the Detent Spring.
3. Install new Detent Spring (99-1475) and partially install Adjustment Screw.
4. Apply 2 drops of blue Loctite
®
to threads of Adjustment Screw.
5. With the engine off and valve bank in the mow position, tighten the Adjustment
Screw until foot force required to operate lift pedal (disengage mow detent) is
adequate. Do not tighten adjustment screw too tightly as this could bind the spool.
Verify unit operation.
