AfterOperationSafety
GeneralSafety
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunits,
drives,mufers,coolingscreens,andengineto
helppreventres.Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
•Shutoffthefuelwhilestoringortransportingthe
machine.
•Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwhenever
youaretransportingornotusingthemachine.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure.
•Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
TowingSafety
•Towonlywithamachinethathasahitchdesigned
fortowing.Donotattachtowedequipmentexcept
atthehitchpoint.
•Followthemanufacturer’srecommendationfor
weightlimitsfortowedequipmentandtowing
onslopes.Onslopes,theweightofthetowed
equipmentmaycauselossoftractionandlossof
control.
•Neverallowchildrenorothersinorontowed
equipment.
•Travelslowlyandallowextradistancetostop
whentowing.
InspectingandCleaning
afterMowing
Aftermowing,thoroughlywashthemachinewith
agardenhosewithoutanozzlesothatexcessive
waterpressuredoesnotcontaminateanddamagethe
sealsandbearings.Donotwashawarmengineor
electricalconnectionswithwater.
Aftercleaning,inspectthemachineforpossible
hydraulicuidleaks,damageorweartohydraulic
andmechanicalcomponents,andthecuttingunitsfor
sharpness.Also,lubricatethebrake-shaftassembly
withSAE30oilorspraylubricanttodetercorrosion
andhelpkeepthemachineperformingsatisfactorily
duringthenextmowingoperation.
HaulingtheMachine
•Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachine
intoatraileroratruck.
•Usefull-widthrampsforloadingthemachineinto
atraileroratruck.
•Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,
chains,cable,orropes.Bothfrontandrearstraps
shouldbedirecteddownandoutwardfromthe
machine.
TowingtheMachine
Incaseofanemergency,youcantowthemachinefor
ashortdistance,lessthan0.4km(1/4mile);however,
Torodoesnotrecommendthisasstandardprocedure.
Important:Donottowthemachinefasterthan3
to5km/h(2to3mph)becausethedrivesystem
maybedamaged.Ifthemachinemustbemoved
aconsiderabledistance,transportitonatruck
ortrailer.
