TractionandStoppingPedal
Thetractionpedal(Figure22)hasthreefunctions:to
makethemachinemoveforward,tomoveitbackward,
andtostopthemachine.Pressthetopofthepedalto
moveforwardandthebottomofthepedaltomove
backwardortoassistinstoppingwhenmovingforward.
Also,allowthepedaltomovetotheneutralpositionto
stopthemachine.Foroperatorcomfort,donotrestthe
heelofyourfootonreversewhenoperatingforward
(Figure23).

Thebrakepedal(Figure22)actuatesanautomotive
drum-typemechanicalbrakeateachtractionwheel.
ParkingBrakeLever
Pressingthebrakepedaltoactuatethebrakeassembly,
thenpressingthesmallleverindicated(Figure22)will
keepthebrakesactuatedforparking.Disengageitby
pressingthebrakepedal.Formthehabitoflockingthe
parkingbrakebeforeyouleavethemachine.Lockthe
parkingbrakeanytimeyouleavethemachine.
ThrottleControl
Thethrottlecontrol(Figure24)givestheoperatorthe
abilitytocontrolthespeedoftheengine.Movingthe
throttlecontroltowardtheFastpositionincreasesthe
engineRPM;movingthethrottlecontroltowardSlow
willdecreasetheengineRPM.Groundspeedsareas
follows:
2to5MPH(3.2to8km/h)forwardmowingspeed
8.8MPH(14.1km/h)maximumtransportspeed
2.5MPH(4.0km/h)reversespeed
Note:Theenginecannotbestoppedbytheuseofthe
throttlecontrol.
