Important:Topreventoverheatingofthe
startermotor,donotengagethestarterlonger
than10seconds.After10secondsofcontinuous
cranking,wait60secondsbeforeengagingthe
startermotoragain.
6.Allowtheenginetowarmupforafewminutes
beforeapplyingload.
7.Whentheengineisstartedforthersttime,orafter
anoverhauloftheengine,operatethemachinein
forwardandreverseforonetotwominutes.Turn
thesteeringwheeltotheleftandrighttocheckthe
steeringresponse.Thenshuttheengineoff(see
StoppinginStartingandStoppingtheEngine)and
waitforallmovingpartstostop.Checkforoilleaks,
loosepartsandanyothernoticeablemalfunctions.
Stopping
1.MovethethrottlecontroltoSlow ,disengagethe
raise/lowermowcontrol,andmovethefunctional
controltoneutral.
2.RotatethestarterkeytoOfftoshuttheengine
off.Removethekeyfromtheswitchtoprevent
accidentalstarting.
3.Closethefuelshut-offvalvesbeforestoringthe
machine.
BleedingtheFuelSystem
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.Makesure
thefueltankisatleasthalffull.
2.Openthebreathervalve,ontopofthecanister,
untilfuelleaksout(Figure35).

CheckingtheSafetyInterlock
System
Ifthesafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnected
ordamagedthemachinecouldoperate
unexpectedlycausingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Thepurposeofthesafetyinterlocksystemistoprevent
operationofthemachinewherethereispossibleinjury
totheoperatororthemachine
•Thetractionpedalisinneutral.
•Thefunctionalcontrolleverisinneutral.
Thesafetyinterlocksystempreventsthemachine
frommovingunless:
•Theparkingbrakeisoff.
•Theoperatorisseated.
•ThefunctionalcontrolleverisinMoworTransport.
Thesafetyinterlocksystempreventsthereelsfrom
operatingunlessthefunctionalcontrolleverisinthe
Mowposition.
