1.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Trytodepressthe
tractionpedal.Thepedalshouldnotdepress,
whichmeansthattheinterlocksystemisoperating
correctly.Correcttheproblemifitisnotoperating
properly.
2.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Movethefunctional
controllevertomowortransportandtrytostartthe
engine.Theengineshouldnotcrank,whichmeans
thattheinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.
Correcttheproblemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
3.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,
andengagetheparkingbrake.Starttheengine
andmovethefunctionalcontrollevertomowor
transport.Theengineshouldkill,whichmeansthat
theinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.Correct
theproblemifitisnotoperatingproperly.
4.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Starttheengine.Release
theparkingbrake,movethefunctionalcontrol
levertomow,andrisefromtheseat.Theengine
shouldkill,whichmeansthattheinterlocksystem
isoperatingcorrectly.Correcttheproblemifitis
notoperatingproperly.
5.Sitontheseat,movethetractionpedaltoNeutral,
movethefunctionalcontrollevertoNeutral,and
engagetheparkingbrake.Starttheengine.Move
theraise/lowermowcontrolforwardtolowerthe
cuttingunits.Thecuttingunitsshouldlowerbut
notstartrotating.Iftheydo,theinterlocksystemis
notoperatingcorrectly.Correcttheproblem.
SettingtheReelSpeed
Toachieveaconsistent,highquality–of–cutanda
uniformaftercutappearance,itisimportantthatthe
reelspeedcontrol(locatedonthemanifoldblockunder
seat)becorrectlyset.
Adjustthereelspeedcontrolasfollows:
1.Selecttheheight-of-cutatwhichthecuttingunits
areset.
2.Choosethedesiredgroundspeedbestsuitedfor
conditions.
3.Usingtheappropriategraph(SeeFigure36)for5,
8or11bladecuttingunits,determinetheproper
reelspeedsetting.

1.Measureinapproximately5inches(12.7cm)from
theouteredgeofeachbasket.
2.Eitherplaceastripofwhitetapeorpaintaline
ontoeachbasketparallelingtheouteredgeofeach
basket(Figure38).
