Batteryterminalsormetaltoolscouldshort
againstmetaltractorcomponentscausing
sparks.Sparkscancausethebatterygassesto
explode,resultinginpersonalinjury.
Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,do
notallowthebatteryterminalstotouchany
metalpartsofthetractor.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetween
thebatteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthe
tractor.
Incorrectbatterycableroutingcoulddamage
thetractorandcablescausingsparks.Sparks
cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,
resultinginpersonalinjury.
Ifcorrosionoccursattheterminals,disconnect
thecables,negative(-)cablerst,andscrape
theclampsandterminalsseparately.Reconnect
thecables,positive(+)cablerst,andcoatthe
terminalswithpetroleumjelly.
Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)
batterycablebeforedisconnectingthe
positive(red)cable.
Alwaysconnectthepositive(red)battery
cablebeforeconnectingthenegative(black)
cable.
StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredmorethan30days,remove
thebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstoreitonthe
shelfonthemachine.Leavethecablesdisconnectedif
itisstoredonthemachine.Storethebatteryinacool
atmospheretoavoidquickdeteriorationofthechargein
thebattery.Topreventthebatteryfromfreezing,make
sureitisfullycharged.Thespecicgravityofafully
chargedbatteryis1.265–1.299.
