Subject: Changes to the Lift Cylinders on Triplex Greensmowers.
Some original lift cylinders used on Triplex Greenmaster products have been
discontinued and will no longer be available once inventory is depleted (seal kits will
continue to remain available). If a replacement cylinder is needed for a unit listed in this
bulletin, the lift cylinders from Triplex Greenmaster products with serial numbers higher
than 220000000 are a direct replacement. Orders for the original cylinders will
automatically cross-reference to the cylinders shown in the chart below.
The replacement cylinders feature the following improvements.
1. The end gland is threaded and can be easily removed using a spanner wrench.
2. The “T” shaped piston seal is flexible and easy to install.
3. The piston backup rings are split for easy installation.
4. The design of the seal allows for less seal drag and smoother operation.
Positioning Spacers (see chart) are now recommended to control the alignment of the
front cylinders. Install the spacers between the base end of the cylinder and the main
frame. Position Spacer (74-3730) to the inside of the front cylinders on all Models.
